Acceptance of these terms

By accessing or using AnyTerrain (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

The Service

AnyTerrain generates 3D terrain models from third-party digital elevation data, and lets you preview, download and share them. It runs in your browser. Features, export formats and the region sizes on offer may change over time.

Accounts and access

The Service can currently be used without an account. Sign-in is planned; when accounts are introduced, additional terms covering account security and acceptable use will apply, and will be published on this page.

Permitted use and limits

You may use the Service for personal and commercial purposes, subject to these terms and to the terms of the underlying data providers.

To keep the Service available to everyone, technical limits apply — for example on the maximum region size and on download frequency. These limits may change. Automated or bulk use intended to circumvent them is not permitted.

Licence for the models you generate

You may use, modify and redistribute the 3D models you generate through the Service, including in commercial projects, provided that your use complies with these terms, with any licence attached to the underlying elevation and imagery data, and with applicable law.

AnyTerrain claims no exclusive rights over the underlying geographic data, which originates from public and third-party sources. Where a data provider’s licence imposes conditions — for example an attribution requirement — those conditions apply to your use of the derived model.

We recommend keeping the source information shown on each model page together with the model when you redistribute it.

Intellectual property

The Service itself — its software, interface, text and branding — remains the property of the operator of AnyTerrain and its licensors. The selections and files you provide remain yours.

Acceptable use

You agree not to: scrape, crawl or otherwise extract data from the Service at scale; resell or redistribute the Service itself as your own; attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorised access to the Service; or use the Service for unlawful purposes or in a way that infringes the rights of others.

Accuracy and disclaimers

Terrain models are derived from third-party elevation data and carry the accuracy limits of that data. Horizontal accuracy is typically on the order of tens of metres, and vertical accuracy varies between sources.

The models are suitable for visualisation, design exploration and 3D printing. They are not survey-grade and must not be relied upon for surveying, engineering, construction, navigation, aviation, or any other decision where inaccurate elevation could cause harm or loss.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted availability.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator of AnyTerrain is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for loss of data, profits or opportunity, arising from your use of the Service or from decisions made using the models it produces. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Changes and termination

We may change, suspend or discontinue the Service, in whole or in part, at any time. We may also update these terms; the “last updated” date shows the current version, and continued use after a change means that you accept it.

Governing law
