About this place
Mount Ararat (Ağrı Dağı) rises to 5,137 m in eastern Turkey, close to the borders with Armenia, Iran and Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan exclave — the highest point of the country and of the entire Armenian Highlands. It is a dormant stratovolcano built of two cones: the ice-capped Greater Ararat (Büyük Ağrı) and the smaller Little Ararat (Küçük Ağrı, 3,896 m), separated by a broad saddle roughly 11 km wide. Its last eruption was in 1840, when an earthquake and debris flow destroyed villages and an ancient monastery on the mountain's flanks. Because Genesis describes the ark coming to rest "on the mountains of Ararat", the peak has drawn pilgrims — and, more recently, ark-hunters — for centuries; the first recorded ascent of the summit was made in 1829 by Friedrich Parrot and Khachatur Abovian. A permanent ice cap survives near the top and feeds the headwaters of the Aras and Murat rivers, and although the mountain lies within Turkey today, it remains a potent national symbol for neighbouring Armenia.
How to use
For hiking & outdoor
Use the 3D view to read ridgelines, relief and the overall shape of the terrain before a trip. It is a static elevation model for reference only; it is not live navigation, routing or safety guidance.
For 3D printing
Download the model as STL, OBJ, DAE or Rhino 3DM and open it in your slicer or CAD tool. Files carry terrain geometry only; printability, scale and mesh quality depend on how you slice them and are not guaranteed here.
